A new short-term car rental service, Car2go, offers by-the-minute rentals. An annual ($35) membership fee gives you access to its fleet of smart cars which may be rented for 38 cents per minute.
Service is currently available in 5 U.S. cities (Austin; San Diego; Portland, Oregon; Washington, D.C.; and Miami), and 15 more across the globe .
No reservations or round trips are necessary. You may pick up and drop off at any legal parking spot. Use the Car2go mobile app to locate available vehicles. Rates which include parking, fuel, and insurance, are standard across the country and are on par with Zipcar’s prices.
